Daytime meetings
For many years, we have generally met around 7:00 PM in the evening. However, after careful consideration and evaluation of recent years, we have decided to move the meeting times to no later than 4:00 PM in the afternoon. This change will take effect from the 2025 meeting season. In consultation with your VvE manager, this time can also be brought forward. We aim to conclude the Meeting before 6:00 PM, so that you and the VvE manager have the evening free. This decision has been made based on a number of important considerations which we would like to share with you.
Declining turnout
We have noticed that attendance at evening meetings has decreased in recent years. This may be due to, for example, the busy schedules of our owners, who often have less energy after a long workday to attend a meeting in the evening. We therefore regularly receive requests to move the meetings to daytime. By moving these meetings to no later than 4:00 PM, we hope that more owners will be able to participate. This will benefit the engagement and quality of our meetings.
Labour market challenges
It is becoming increasingly difficult to find employees willing to work in the evenings. Across the entire industry, it's evident that VvE managers are struggling to fill vacancies. Evening meetings are therefore one of the main reasons why our colleagues decide to look for other jobs.
By moving the meetings to the afternoon, we can better respond to the wishes of our current and future employees. This change will therefore improve the continuity and efficiency of our services.
Digital meeting
In recent years, digital meetings have experienced enormous growth, partly thanks to technological advancements and the need for flexible solutions. For VvE's (Owners' Associations), this was also permitted during the corona pandemic, with the help of emergency legislation. At present, legislation to make this permanently possible is in an advanced stage. Therefore, from 2025, we will be offering the option for digital meetings. Whether the meeting takes place digitally at your association depends on many different factors. The board will make a well-considered decision in consultation with the VvE manager.
